Our story
Guttering Services was founded by William Murphy in 2009. He grew up in Caherdavin watching his dad climb the same ladder twice a year to clean the same gutter. That gutter eventually fell off. He's been quietly fixing the problem ever since.
After a construction studies course at LIT and a four-year apprenticeship with a Limerick roofing crew, William bought a single van and a ladder rack and started taking calls. The first customer was a semi-detached in Castletroy with a sagging gutter that nobody else would quote on. Sixteen years later, that house is still on our annual maintenance list.
Today the team handles cleaning, repairs, installation, replacement and commercial work across the whole Mid-West - Limerick City, Castletroy, Dooradoyle, Caherdavin, Raheen, Annacotty, Adare, Kilmallock, Newcastle West, Ennis, Shannon, and the rural towns in between. William still does most of the trickier surveys himself.
We're CIF members, Safe Pass and Working at Heights certified, and we carry public liability insurance. Certs sent by email before we arrive on site if you'd like to see them. Every install and replacement comes with a 20-year written workmanship guarantee. Most jobs are sorted same-day or next-day. The price we quote is the price you pay - no "we noticed you also need..." surprise on the day.

What we stand for
For non-routine jobs, the founder takes the call himself. No call centre. No script. An honest opinion - even if that means telling you not to spend the money.
Most jobs sorted on the day of the call across Limerick city, Castletroy, Dooradoyle and Caherdavin. Storm damage gets priority.
You get a written quote before any work starts. The price you agree is the price you pay - no "we noticed your fascia also needs..." surprise on the day.
Trust us to fix any leaks, clogs, or damage, keeping your property protected from water damage.
2009
William started the business with a single van, a ladder rack, and a phone number. First customer: a sagging gutter in Castletroy nobody else would quote on.
2014
Brought one of the first on-site rolled aluminium gutter machines to Limerick. Most installers in the area still don't offer it.
2019
A milestone celebrated quietly with a coffee on the way to job number 1,001.
2024
Started supervising apprentices for the firm. Mostly Limerick lads who grew up watching the same gutters fail year after year.
2026
Still on the ladder most days. Still writing the technical posts on this site. Still convinced most gutter problems start with someone cheaping out on brackets.
06
Even with no visible problems, Limerick's wet climate and tree-lined estates mean gutters silt up fast. Annual cleans prevent small build-ups becoming €2,000 fascia jobs.
William takes every non-routine survey himself. Drop your details, the address, and a photo if you have one - he calls back personally inside an hour during business hours.
